Google Lens revive esta función de 2015

Google acaba de presentar algunas funciones nuevas e interesantes de búsqueda, lentes y mapas en París. Una de las características más notables es la aplicación de cámara impulsada por IA de la compañía. Según TechRadar, Google Lens eventualmente podrá buscar lo que hay en su pantalla.

Así que a Google Lens no le fue tan bien como a una aplicación independiente, pero el gigante de las búsquedas cambió su estrategia. La empresa implementó Lens en varios rincones de su ecosistema de servicios. Ahora está implementado en la barra de búsqueda de Google y Google Photos y puede escanear capturas de pantalla automáticamente. Esta poderosa herramienta de inteligencia artificial solo se ha fortalecido desde su presentación en 2017.

Google lens encuentra lo que hay en tu pantalla

La compañía nos muestra una demostración rápida de esta función en acción. Si se muestra un teléfono reproduciendo un video. Luego, el usuario abre el Asistente de Google y toca un ícono de lente que aparece. Lens luego escaneó la pantalla y devolvió resultados de búsqueda sobre lo que escaneó. En el video, el usuario mantuvo presionado el botón de encendido para acceder al Asistente. Cuando se inicia esta función, no estamos seguros de qué comando de voz usar. Podría ser algo como «Ok Google, ¿qué hay en mi pantalla?» o «Ok Google, busca en mi pantalla».

Vimos algo así en 2015

Esto parece una característica útil, pero la gente en el mundo de la tecnología en 2015 podría recordar algo como esto. En el pasado, antes de los días del Asistente de Google, solíamos tener Google Now On Tap. Esta función se introdujo con Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Esta función funcionó de la misma manera que la nueva función Lens. Mantienes presionado el botón de inicio para acceder a Google Now. Luego, el software analiza lo que hay en su pantalla y le brinda información contextual sobre lo que hay en su pantalla. Si está en una conversación de texto, escanea el texto y busca una forma de ayudarlo. Por ejemplo, si está planeando una cena, obtendrá resultados de búsqueda de restaurantes cercanos. La implementación de Lens es un poco diferente, como puedes imaginar, y es mucho más avanzada. La compañía tiene otros siete años de inteligencia artificial y desarrollo de software en su haber. Con suerte, esta implementación no correrá la misma suerte que Google Now On Tap.
