En respuesta, Samsung lanzó una actualización dentro de One UI que permitía a los usuarios desactivar GOS manualmente. Esto permitió el acceso a toda la potencia del procesador Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (así como el modelo Exynos 2200) en los juegos.

No está claro qué significa la existencia de este interruptor. Una de las razones principales por las que Samsung introdujo esta opción en el Galaxy S22 fue porque el procesador del teléfono se sobrecalentaba y consumía la batería en algunos escenarios (por ejemplo, juegos). Aparentemente, el Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 en la serie Galaxy S23 debería resolver este problema, según lo que hemos visto en otros teléfonos 8 Gen 2 y 8 Plus Gen 1. Dicho esto, esto podría ser simplemente un remanente del Galaxy S22, que brinda a los usuarios la opción de activar y desactivar las optimizaciones de rendimiento/batería para juegos. Algunos usuarios aún pueden encontrar esto útil para sesiones de juego prolongadas, donde el calor inevitablemente se convertirá en un problema. Sin embargo, si el 8 Gen 2 es tan eficiente como dice, es posible que el cambio no haga mucho por el rendimiento del Samsung Galaxy S23, excepto en casos más extremos.

El cambio de GOS está aquí, pero aún no está claro cómo afectará el rendimiento.

Sin embargo, existe la posibilidad de que el Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 para Galaxy no solucione por completo los problemas de sobrecalentamiento/descarga de batería de su predecesor. Si es así, la palanca de GOS podría estar allí porque Samsung cree que los usuarios podrían querer desactivar las optimizaciones.
