Esta estafa de Amazon está en aumento para la temporada navideña

No es ningún misterio que las estafas de compras están en su apogeo durante estos tiempos. Hay una nueva estafa de Amazon SMS descubierta por Techradar, y es importante evitarla si es posible.

Todos están ansiosos por hacer sus compras navideñas y eso favorece a los estafadores. Cuando las personas tienen en mente comprar, significa que hay muchas más personas a las que los estafadores podrían apuntar.

Esta nueva estafa de Amazon SMS va en aumento

La mecánica de esta estafa es bastante simple y no es la estafa más nueva. Es algo que ha existido durante años. Pero a medida que se acercan las vacaciones, querrá esperarlo con ansias.

Recibe un mensaje de texto de un número desconocido y el mensaje le alerta sobre una compra reciente que realizó en Amazon. Le mostrará qué producto se ha comprado y la cantidad descontada de su tarjeta. En realidad, nadie ha realizado una compra con tu tarjeta.

Debajo de eso obtienes el clásico “¿no es así? Ponte en contacto con este «número» y verás un número de teléfono junto a él. Los estafadores quieren que llames al número de teléfono y hables con un representante de «Amazon».

Una vez que hable con un representante, le pedirán sus credenciales de Amazon para confirmar su cuenta. Utilidades, Éste es donde las cosas se ponen difíciles, porque una vez que les das tu información de Amazon, todo termina. Pueden tomar el control de su cuenta y robar su información bancaria.

El mensaje de texto en cuestión muestra señales estridentes de que es falso. Para empezar, al menos según la captura de pantalla compartida por LaComparacion, el texto dice «Su tarjeta ha sido cargada de $649.” La palabra «con» no debería estar allí.

Debajo de eso, la palabra «no» tiene un cero en el medio a diferencia de la letra «O». Además, el formato de fecha no tiene sentido. Vemos “05/DIC/2022”. ¿Por qué usar texto en el medio cuando el resto de la fecha contiene números? Un mensaje de texto directamente de Amazon no tendría estos problemas.

Si recibe un mensaje que dice que su tarjeta ha sido cargada por un pedido que no debe hacer, inicie sesión en su cuenta de Amazon y revise sus pedidos. Si no ve una orden, no sucedió. Esté seguro en esta temporada navideña y haga su debida diligencia antes de dar la información de su tarjeta de crédito a cualquier servicio.
