Google corrige una importante limitación para compartir archivos con Drive

Google está haciendo que las colaboraciones en su servicio de almacenamiento basado en la nube, Google Drive, sean más eficientes. La compañía está implementando una actualización de su función para compartir archivos que brindará a los usuarios sin una cuenta de Google acceso a más herramientas. Ahora pueden subir o crear archivos en unidades compartidas.

La función de uso compartido de visitantes de Google ya hace que sea seguro compartir archivos de Drive con personas sin cuentas de Google. Obtiene una plataforma de colaboración segura basada en PIN que permite a los usuarios que no son de Google ver, comentar o editar contenido. Esta capacidad también está disponible con Google Docs, Sheets, Slides y Sites, es decir, prácticamente todas las suites de productividad Workspace de la empresa.

Sin embargo, Google no permite que usuarios que no sean de Google carguen archivos o creen contenido nuevo en unidades compartidas. Esto limita un poco la productividad. Los usuarios fuera de la organización que no tengan una cuenta de Google no podrán enviar sus ideas. La compañía ahora está abordando esta limitación al permitir que todos proporcionen su propio contenido para una colaboración más efectiva y eficiente.

La nueva función está disponible de forma predeterminada para los usuarios elegibles de Google Drive, siempre y cuando el uso compartido de visitantes esté habilitado para su organización. Si bien los administradores pueden deshabilitar el uso compartido de visitantes a nivel de la organización, no hay una configuración de usuario final para ello.

Google implementa un intercambio mejorado de visitantes para Drive

Si bien las empresas suelen utilizar las mismas herramientas de productividad en toda la organización, hay momentos en que algunos archivos requieren que colaboren con otras empresas. Y no es necesario que la otra parte utilice las mismas herramientas en su organización. También hay otras opciones, sobre todo Microsoft 365. Esta actualización de uso compartido de visitantes de Google Drive evita que los usuarios tengan problemas en tales situaciones. Google también agregó recientemente la capacidad de editar archivos de Microsoft Office en las herramientas de Google Workspace en modo sin conexión. Este tipo de funciones facilitan la colaboración entre empresas.

Según Google, la última actualización de Drive ya se está implementando para los usuarios en los dominios de lanzamiento rápido y lanzamiento programado.
