Bueno, Google no se va a quedar sentado y dejar que eso suceda. Según filtrador confiable Kuba Wojciechowski, podría haber un rastreador de Google en proceso que sería un competidor directo de AirTags. Según se informa, el nombre en clave de este producto es «grogu», que es el nombre real de «Baby Yoda» de la serie de televisión The Mandalorian. Este es un lindo nombre porque Grogu es esencialmente un pequeño accesorio para The Mandalorian.

Según Wojciechowski, el supuesto rastreador de Google se parecería mucho a un AirTag. Puede incluir un altavoz, venir en varios colores y también puede ser compatible con Bluetooth LE y Ultra Wideband (UWB).

Esa última parte es muy interesante. Desde la serie Pixel 6, Google ha incluido la tecnología UWB en sus teléfonos. Sin embargo, no ha hecho nada sustancial con esta tecnología. Al lanzar un rastreador, Google podría poner en funcionamiento esta tecnología al permitir que los usuarios obtengan datos de ubicación ultraespecíficos para sus rastreadores (y, por lo tanto, con qué está asociado ese rastreador).

Desafortunadamente, Wojciechowski no tiene información sobre el nombre real del producto del supuesto rastreador de Google. Tampoco sabemos cuándo se lanzaría.
